Another Blast From The Past

Many of you who were into the 60s and 70s music scene will know this man. His name is Alan Peter Kuperschmidt, but you may remember him as Al Kooper (not to be confused with Alice Cooper, although he has worked with him). His list of collaborative projects is a mile long, and the styles were widely varied. He played keyboards on some cuts that were recorded by some very successful artists in their day and in the interim, he found time to do a little playing and singing on his own.

Enjoy.

  1. Definitely an Al Kooper fan. As a teen I fell in love with his Super Session records and of course was really into his work on Highway 61 Revisited with Dylan. (I’m lucky enough to have a dad that collected some good music back in the 60’s and 70’s!)

    Thanks for the music!

    • Kip,

I think he was one of the most versatile musicians of his era, if the the most. I’ve even heard him do some bluegrassy stuff. He never wanted to be a star, an entertainer , he never really sang that well. But he could compose, write, and play music and songs.

Gifted is the word I think applies.

      Thanks for stopping by.

BTW–I think I commented on your Crispin Glover post and might have gone to comment hell. But I could have screwed it up and not hit send because I got distracted or something.
