Another Blast From The Past

In case you are too young or you are old enough but have forgotten, meet Mr. Otis Spann. A great talent’s music never really dies, even though the man does….and Otis definitely was taken way too soon.

Here he is with Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac fame, with a release that was recorded a little over a year before he died:

Enjoy.

Has a Memphis feel, I like it. Never heard of the guy but he’s apparently been gone a long while if Fleetwood Mac still had Peter Green in it.

    • 1969….he died of liver cancer in 1970. Wiki says he was born in Jackson MS, and he was playing in the Chicago blues scene. It also says his mother was supposedly a guitar player for Memphis Minnie (no citation was listed though). Maybe that is where he acquired his Memphis style.
